The Design of the Austrian Federal Railways Headquarters translates the local terms of reference into a dynamic building ensemble. The formal disposition of the highrise adapts to the aerodynamic requirements of the site and results in a slender appearance as the new landmark of the Austrian Federal Railways. The shifting of the slabs creates two vertical voids for skygardens and common areas inside the skyscraper. The plinth incorporates the segmentation of the vertical structure and responds sensitively to the heights of the adjacent buildings.
